Uranus in Aries
Uranus
entered Aries May 27 – August 13, 2010, then retrograded
back into Pisces before returning to energetic, aggressive
Aries March 11, 2011.
Uranus demands freedom and progress and Pluto forces reform
and Saturn represents government and authority. These
three planetary energies will be in high tension with each
other the end of July 2010. The last time these
planets were at cross purposes was 1965 and in fact what is
happening June through August 2010 is the beginning of
testing the strong beliefs that were ignited in the mid
60’s as seen with the US Civil Rights battle, Vietnam War
protests, feminist movement, and all the violence exploding
in US cities. The political and ideological protests
of the sixties, that seemed to wane into self-serving
apathy is suddenly exploding to the surface again.
Uranus was the first planet to be discovered with the
telescope and was found accidentally by W. Herschel in
England on March 13, 1781 when Uranus was transiting the
tropical sign of Gemini. The major event at that
period was the American Revolutionary War
(1775–1783). As Uranus became a new reality so did
the consciousness of democracy that was being fought for
during Uranus' discovery and that is one reason that Uranus
is associated with revolutions, freedoms, independence and
technology since a telescope was needed to find
Uranus.
Uranus aligns
with Pluto roughly once every 125 years on average. The
last Uranus-Pluto conjunction was the Virgo alignment of
1965-66. The next will be the 2104 in Taurus. The last
conjunction of Uranus/Pluto was in Aries, preceding the
Civil War in 1850/51 with the rise of the abolitionist
movement demanding freedom for all people. The conjunction
triggers social reform as the masses rise against the
previous belief systems. When Uranus forms its first
90-degree angle between the UranusPluto conjunction is when
the demand for social change is often reignited. The
last Uranus Pluto 90-angle was 1932/1933 during the Great
Depression that helped create the New Deal, which brought a
watershed of domestic reforms unparalleled in U.S. history
after a total collapse of the economy. Pluto was in
Cancer and Uranus was in Aries and in 2012-2014 Uranus will
be in Aries again but Pluto be in the opposite sign of
Capricorn. Cancer rules the home and domestic issues
but Capricorn focuses more on business and world affairs so
many of the effects coming up will be more
international.
Uranus’ entry
into Aries is a preview of what’s to transpire as Uranus
and Pluto are in a 90-degree angle 2012 through 2014.
A preview because Uranus in Aries begins now to form the
angle to Pluto in Capricorn but not yet at its strongest
point and plus restrictive Saturn is opposing Uranus the
end of July and squaring Pluto in August. 2010. The
energies for social change around the world are definitely
intensifying this June through August but the impact is not
at full strength and Saturn will be delaying and
controlling the outcome. This is why I write that we
are only going to witness the rumblings and frustrations
for social, political and corporate change in 2010 through
2011 but the threshold demanding reform will peak 2012
through 2014. Pluto rules reform and major overhauls
and Saturn rules Capricorn and therefore it rules over
business and governments. The last time Pluto was
reforming government ideology was during the American
Revolution and the founding of the first democratic
society. The next couple of years is not just
triggering again the angry protestors of the 60’s but it’s
awakening the sleeping giant of social and political
revolution that demanded democracy in the
18th
Century that
began with the American Revolution and then onto the French
Revolution.
The planets and
signs rule various aspects of life and Uranus rules over
rebellion, liberation and independence along with
inventions and technology. Aries represents new
frontiers, courage, ambition, energy, impatience and
war. Uranus transits through all the signs every 84
years and Pluto’s cycle is 248 years. Uranus transit
through Aries would indicate the sudden demand for
independent action and rebellion against constraints. Pluto
is currently in Capricorn from 2008 through 2023 but the
last time was 1762 – 1778 when the US signed its
Declaration of Independence igniting the revolutionary war.
Uranus rules the middle class that was first developing in
the US because of it’s new government of democracy. The
French Revolution (1789–1799) shortly followed was a period
of radical social and political upheaval in French and
European history.
The Uranus was
in Pisces from 2003 through March 2011 except with the
Aries period May 27 to August 13, 2010. Pisces
rules the unconsciousness, the divine and our inner lives
so its great for healing, intuition, creativity and the
spiritual life. Uranus in Pisces would have tried to
awaken these qualities within all of us but for those who
are more shut down, unconscious or stuck in rigid belief
systems it would have been terribly threatened as their
reality was coming under attack by the prevailing
beliefs. Therefore some of us were having
inspirational breakthroughs on various levels and others
where having nervous breakdowns or becoming more fanatical
as the fight to preserve their previous way of life, as
seen among the religious terrorists attacking the freedoms
of democracy. But progress always wins, eventually,
but often with explosive resistance to
change.
Aries rules all
things new, pioneering, energy, courage and
independence. As Uranus rules over technology as well
as social reform the positive affects of Uranus in Aries
through 2019 could indicate major advancements into the new
frontiers of climate and environmental technologies,
alternative energies, and more independent wireless
computers to enhance the qualities of our lives. New ideas
could inspire and expand with great
speed.

Keep in mind
that Pluto in Capricorn will force any necessary change for
your individual development so the best thing you could do
is become more self-aware and take responsibility for your
actions or life could take responsibility for
you.
Aries:
You will rebel against any self-imposed limitations.
You could suddenly change your appearance. Marriage
or any important relationship that feels restrictive could
become disruptive as you feel a strong need to be
free. Or you may just be feeling rebellious in
general. A great period to awaken a deeper
self-awareness through the use of yoga, meditation,
astrology, psychology or any consciousness expanding
techniques.
Taurus:
Aries rules your 12th
house of the
unconscious, all things repressed or hidden; such as
secrets along with retreats, ashrams and prisons.
Uranus awakens consciousness so that during its transit of
the 12th
you
could suddenly wake up to repressed memories, or have
prophetic dreams, or receive unexpected inspirations.
This could be a roller coaster of emotions however it’s
your authentic self that is trying to surface and wake you
up. The more you allow the process the easier and more
exciting it will be for you so start learning to meditate
if you haven't yet begun.
Gemini:
Your expectations and aspirations will suddenly fall into
place or you will realize how limited your goals have been
as you strive for bigger dreams. Your friends and
affiliations will also change quite suddenly in many
cases. As your goals change so will your friendships
as seen when you attract a better paying job and you are
introduced to other more successful people or a previous
friendship becomes jealous at your advancement. As
you change your goals and aspirations you will attract
other friendships.
Cancer:
Expect radical changes in your profession. Either you
will suddenly lose a job causing the need to find another,
or an opportunity for advancement will show up out of the
blue. Sometimes it’s when you finally have your break
with the dreams you had been pursuing maybe for
years. You could be rebelling against authority
figures; such as bosses, parents or the government.
Your social status could change dramatically for the better
or worse depending on your own choices. The major theme is
excitement in your profesional life.
Leo:
Aries rules your 9th
of
higher education, media, philosophy, the law, travel and
foreign affairs. Uranus always brings in the element
of the unexpected as well as revolutionary changes.
You may decide to go back to school or travel to a foreign
country for the first time. Some of you could become
famous or infamous in the media. Many unexpected
trips are typical of this transit. This is a great
period to expand your belief systems and broaden your
outlook on life but if you are stuck in rigid bigotries
this period could be very upsetting to your
worldview.
Virgo:
The 8th
house rules
joint finances, legacies, taxes, insurance, banking and
death or endings. Uranus could suddenly change for
the good or bad your partner’s finances or your own
income. An inheritance or even a lottery win could
suddenly occur and change your finances. Divorce,
death, bankruptcies or business contracts ending are
probable as Uranus can shake-up and upset all kinds of
financial agreements. The positive beyond the
financial windfalls would be a dramatic change triggering a
rebirth or an opportunity to reinvent
yourself.
Libra:
Uranus in Aries is transiting your 7th
of
marriage, partnerships, public recognition and
contracts. Uranus wants to rebel against old
restrictions and seek freedom. If your relationships
have settled into a dull routine you could suddenly break
free or your partner could unexpectedly leave you.
Many will divorce or suddenly find a new life partner or a
business partnership. Fame or notoriety could also
suddenly change your life as public recognition would also
change how you relate to others. What you seek is a new way
of relating to others who are important to
you.
Scorpio:
Your 6th
house of work,
your daily routine and job tasks, along with service and
body maintenance will be affected with sudden changes both
good or bad. Usually a new attitude will compel a job
change unless you have been resisting finding a better
situation and then you find that you have lost your
job. You could have a sudden health event but
hopefully you can dramatically change your lifestyle habits
for the better. Uranus tends to wake us up and
therefore is more positive than not so a new job and a new
diet and exercise program fits the bill.
Sagittarius:
Uranus transiting your 5th
house sector
will usually be exciting as it highlight issues of
entertainment, games, children, creativity, speculation,
sports and romance. You will feel a strong pull to
break from any dull routines and have fun, take risks, and
express any latent creative talents. You could
unexpectedly get pregnant so keep that in mind but you may
have more interaction with children in general.
Gambling or risky speculative investments may tempt you and
as long as you have done your homework you should be okay.
Romance could strike at any moment.
Capricorn:
The 4th
sector of your
chart rules your past, family, home and your emotional
foundation. During this transit Uranus will trigger
sudden changes in family, marriage or residence. In
most cases you are well aware of the need for a major
change in your personal life and many will move during this
transit. Uranus only rebels against boredom or
restrictions and where your home or family life has become
stale or confining the Uranus transit will demand you shake
things up or break free. This is an great opportunity to
start a new life in a new city or another
country.
Aquarius:
Uranus will be entering your 3rd
house sector of
siblings, neighbors, communications, short trips, speaking
and learning, and the everyday tempo of your life, which
will be speeded up by Uranus. All intellectual
pursuits will be exciting and for some, you may suddenly
write a book, speak to groups or take a class. You
could be learning astrology or how to use new
technologies. Relationships with siblings or
neighbors could sudden change that could be inspiring or
disturbing. The main thing is that your everyday schedule
will not be dull and routine.
Pisces:
Uranus will be transiting your 2nd
of
income. Uranus indicates the unexpected so that money could
show up where you least expect it. Usually you will
become aware of new ways of creating income. Since
Uranus seeks independence you could start a side-line
business or become self-employed or begin working in sales
or where your income is based on commissions. This
usually means that your income can fluctuate but also come
in large sums; such as closing business or real estate
deals.
