Libra
and Scorpio in the Zodiac
Libra is
known as the Scales of Justice for those born September
24th
through
October 23rd. This is an approximation because of the
irregular rotation of the earth and therefore not every
year will Libra begin exactly on the 24th or even end on
the 23rd.
When
I think of Libra what comes to mind is definitely the
concept of the balancing act, the person trying to juggle
all the balls without dropping any of them. Your life is
dedicated to have all things in harmony and all
relationships at peace. Of course this is a tall order to
perform but it doesn’t stop you at taking the role of the
peacekeeper even when you should keep out of it.
The
symbol associated with your sign is the Scales of Justice.
The
reason for the scales of balance or justice is that most
Librans come into this lifetime feeling out of balance and
are so driven with having harmony, peace and beauty that
you compromise your own personality to constantly make
peace with others. When you should be saying no, you
will still say yes. And eventually trying to keep a lid on
your normal resentments in life the lid blows off like a
pressure cooker exploding and then when enough pressure has
been released you put the lid back on tight before
everything is resolved because you want harmony returned as
quickly as possible at the expense of your individuality.
And so you will see a pattern of Libran’s swinging from
gentleness and rudeness. If you could only let the
scales go out of balance and leave it alone until it finds
its own balance you wouldn’t have to keep blowing like a
Grey whale.
In
your personal relationships you show understanding of the
other person's point of view, trying to resolve any
differences by compromise, and you are often willing to
allow claims against yourself to be settled to your own
disadvantage rather than spoil a relationship. You like the
opposite sex and may indulge in romanticism bordering on
sentimentality. Your marriages, however, stand a good
chance of success because you frequently believe that you
have found your soul-mate. The Libran's continuing kindness
toward his or her partner mollifies any hurt the latter may
feel if the two have had a tiff. Nor can the Libran's
spouse often complain that he or she is not understood, for
the Libran is usually the most empathetic of all the
zodiacal types and the most ready to tolerate the partner’s
failings.
In
matters of the heart you have a strong idea and fantasy of
what true love is and you will constantly pursue this
journey for your soul mate. However you probably will
experience heartaches on your search because you have such
a clear vision of the perfect partner that you can easily
be disillusioned by the imperfection of most other human
beings. But disappointment will not deter you from
your mission of marriage.
When
a Libra matches up with another Libra magic can appear if
only one of you would make a commitment to the
relationship; funny how you want it so bad but then often
indecisive about commitment because what if this is not the
true one you have always fantasized about. However,
when two Libras are mature and have committed to each other
a fairy tale romance is a definite possibility. Scorpios
keep you guessing too much because you are so different but
you could make money with them; Sagittarius will certainly
entertain your mind but the passion could soon turn into a
brotherly or sisterly love; Capricorns will set up a home
with you gladly but they may not seem romantic enough at

violence and crudeness and detest conflict, so you do your
best to cooperate and compromise with everyone.
The
immature Libran character may show flightiness,
flirtatiousness and shallowness. You can be changeable and
indecisive, impatient of routine, and timid, too easygoing,
seldom angry when circumstances demand a show of annoyance
at least; and yet Librans can shock everyone around them
with sudden storms of rage.
I
have often seen the analogy of the pressure cooker when
associating with Libras. What I mean is that Libras will
try very hard to keep peace and will give up there own
individual needs for the sake of harmony. But like a
pressure cooker slowly and eventually the steam and
pressure builds up and if the Libra continues to keep a
tight lid on their true feelings, which is usually the
case, well, that lid is going to blow right off the
cooker.
Unfortunately,
what I have seen too many times is that the Libra, for the
sake of peace, will put the lid back on before all the
resentment and anger has been aired so that the lid will
only blow again at a later date. You will know what I am
talking about when you have to confront the anger of a
Libra who when they finally speak their mind, you will find
yourself arguing about some slight or hurt from 7 months
ago and not from that day or even that week. Libras
will think they are being so civilized by holding onto
their anger but instead they are storing it up for a future
date that always surprises the confused victim of this
outpour. Again, if only Libras would learn to say no more
often they could release the pressure on a more natural
basis.
Libras
are not wishy-washy or indecisive as written in many
astrology books. You just spend too much time weighing all
the possibilities before making up your mind. And when you
do you are very determined, it just takes you so long
because of your overly cautious analyses.
The
scales are the only inanimate symbol of the zodiac, all the
others representing either humans or animals. The inanimate
aspect is the quality of the mind being objective and
rational like our courts of justice. Librans are among the
most civilized of the twelve zodiacal characters. You have
elegance, charm and good taste, are naturally kind, very
gentle, and lovers of beauty and harmony. But most
importantly you have a great judge of character and a
passion for justice and equality for all and therefore your
sign makes for excellent judges, diplomats, counselors,
advisors and even the occasional attorney.
Therefore
you have good critical minds and you are able to stand back
and look impartially at matters that call for an impartial
judgment to be made on them. But you do not tolerate
argument from anyone who challenges your opinions once they
are set. But your character is on the whole balanced,
diplomatic and even tempered.
You
are usually more artistic than intellectual, though you are
too concerned about what others think so that you usually
aren’t too avant-garde in any artistic endeavor. You have
good perception and observation and your critical ability
gives your work integrity.
But
your greatest talents usually fall in the world of
creativity. With your keen eye to color and symmetry you
would do very well from interior to fashion design,
sculpturing, painting and especially acting. But you would
also do very well with owning an art gallery or going into
the investment field of collecting art.
Your
sign is one of the most physically attractive and handsome,
which is why so many of you are attracted to show business
and modeling. And for those very few who think you look
ordinary, you still know how to dress and how to carry
yourselves to appear striking and make heads turn.

Libra
governs the lower back and kidneys. You must be aware of
weaknesses in the back, and you are susceptible to troubles
in the kidneys and bladder. You need to avoid
overindulgence in food and especially drink, for the latter
can particularly harm the kidneys. An interesting
note is that the kidneys are a match pair and healers will
notice that when your kidneys are sensitive or the lower
back region where the kidneys reside is sensitive the root
cause of the problem often comes from stress or feelings of
insecurity with one’s significant relationship.
The
scales of Libra had a deep significance for the Egyptians
for they believed at the time of death that a goddess
placed the human soul on one scale and a feather on the
other. If the scale tipped even slightly, the soul
must return to earth for another life to learn to reduce
its karmic weight. We don’t often see Libra’s today
concerned with the weight of their souls. The constant
balancing act they involve themselves today is for the sake
of partnership, which ultimately weighs them down. Libra’s
scales are constantly weighing and measuring their ongoing
relationships.
