US Karma

What is Wrong with the United States Karma?

Are all the problems of the United States to be blamed on our current President, George Bush?  All the Democrats would like to think so and it does seem as if our President has made some egregious miscalculations.  But when I analyze the horoscope for Bush I have to take into consideration the horoscope for the United States. Our President may be impeachable for his alleged actions but what is the karma of the US horoscope that we would need such chaos for its evolution? I will comment on the horoscope of George W. Bush but it needs to be in context to the lessons that the US horoscope is attracting.  As an aside, prior to the 2000 Presidential Election I lectured and wrote that the outcome of the election seemed almost impossible to predict because of the closeness of the vote according to the interpretations of the various charts that many astrologers were studying. But I did make a prediction that was eerily accurate. I said that if America was continuing a period of peace that Al Gore would win, but if America was entering a period of war, then George W. Bush would win.  Therefore, the tragedies of Iraq and Katrina, in my opinion as an astrologer, cannot be entirely blamed on Bush.  But I do blame the consciousness of the voting public that elected our President as reflected in the chart of the United States.

So what is wrong astrologically with the United States that we find ourselves in such a dark place?  The US is struggling with changing its arrogant attitude of superiority, as many people believe is the central problem with our President. This lesson began in 2005 and culminates this fall 2006. It was in 2005 when the tide of blind devotion to the arrogance of our government began to wane. The meanings of the planets are derived from Greek and Roman mythology. Mercury was the god of communications, travel and spreading ideas and messages.  Mercury in the US chart is in aspect to Pluto, a planetary god of power, arrogance and control. The tendency of Mercury and Pluto in the US chart creates a general consciousness and belief system that our country and our people have all the right answers and that we in turn must convince the rest of the world of our beliefs; such as western democracy is the only method to a peaceful and prosperous world.  Many countries, individuals and companies have had this same planetary configuration but the US has the most money and power and therefore the most justification that it’s vision is the correct and only vision.  We may be fighting the fanaticism of Islamic fundamentalism but I do believe that our government arrogance is fueling the fires of this dissent. Until we change our approach and attitude that only creates more polarity we cannot win this battle of consciousness for it can only be won through collaboration and not right and wrong.  I think the US had to be humbled and therefore the leader had to be humbled and that is my reader digest version of why the US chart attracted such a misinformed leader.

I do predict that by the fall 2006 that our government will be forced to re-examine its approach and make some significant changes or the US public will hit the streets and force the government to change. Personally I wish the public would protest the government and stop being so apathetic and vote a major change in the coming 2006 elections. Perhaps that is the shift that I am foreseeing.  In addition to the Pluto challenge we will also be experiencing liberating Uranus in very positive aspect to the Sun position for the US chart.  This cycle occurs about every 40 years.  This cycle awakens new opportunities for positive change for our country. The main reason we will attract new opportunities is because we would have changed our perception and attitude and especially during this 40 year cycle because it is unfolding during the Pluto cycle, which only happens about every 250 years. Consequently, America may very well be having an identity crisis as it tries to redefine itself in these interesting times.

Now let’s look at George W. Bush’s horoscope. He is a Cancer but has a Leo Rising along with Mercury, Pluto and Venus in Leo. Leo always wants to be the best and to shine in the best possible light but Leos can be very self-righteous in its arrogance. Saturn is the great taskmaster and it is transiting through Leo from the summer of 2005 through the summer of 2007, as it does every 30 years. Saturn is teaching Bush many lessons of communications.  Usually it means that he has to rethink his position because he is realizing that how he impacted the world previously isn’t working for him anymore. Pluto is also in very difficult challenge to Bush’s birth Saturn from 2006 through 2007.  This means that he is struggling to keep the old system and structure of his power and government leadership from collapsing. But a new system is unfolding and it’s only a matter of time.

I think that one of the reasons that the US needed Bush is that we, as a collective consciousness, had become irresponsible as citizens and that we needed such a leader to get our attention. I do not think from examining the charts of the US or Bush that our country is on the verge of collapse. However, the longer the public and the Democrats keep silent the worse our government is going to get, but I would predict that there will be some very significant changes in Congress in the 2006 elections because of our President exposing the ineptitude of the government. As long as our lives are comfortable enough we, as a people, will continue to be lulled into apathy.  Therefore, the chaos we have been thrown into has a gift, if only we would wake up and acknowledge the lessons.
